transfer / restoration / Portastudio stems
I can transfer, convert and restore audio from a variety of legacy formats.
This includes :
There are essentially three options for transferring audio : Basic, Advanced, Master
Basic : A "flat" copy of the audio with basic hum removal, edited and assembled for CD, mp3 or WAV. This is a very affordable option to ensure a high quality transfer if noise removal isn't a concern.
Advanced : As Basic, with click, pop and noise removal, hiss reduction, EQ sweetening. This is a value for money option that offers some excellent basic noise treatment and mastering and is ideal for most archive purposes.
Master : As Advanced, with additional manual restoration, analogue valve EQ and SSL compression, Mastering grade compression and limiting from Weiss and Elysia. Retail ready mastering. This is the option if you intend to release your transfers or want to make sure as much can be improved as possible. It is time consuming and therefore the most expensive option but worth it.
Equipment includes Studer A80 Master Tape Machine 1/4, Dolby 363 SR Noise Reduction, Sony Cassette and Minidisc Decks, Rega Planar 3 Turntable, Goldring Cartridge
Portastudio Stems
I can provide you with stem transfers of your valuable old 4 track and 8 track cassette multitrack masters with or without dbx noise reduction.
Tapes are transferred with either a Tascam 464 or Tascam 688 which are both in excellent order and offer great fidelity.
Stems can be supplied on USB or via on-line transfer. In addition I can apply some mastering to the stems to greatly enhance the sound or even make fresh remixes using the some of the best hardware and software processing available.
